The Orchestra
Filarmonica Italiana (Italian Philharmonic Orchestra) can boast of
a twenty year history during which it has worked intensively in the
fields of lyric opera, symphonic, chamber and ballet music.
Known
and highly regarded for its high artistic standards both here and
abroad, its repertoire is vast and ranges from baroque opera and the
discovery of rare pieces, through the grand operas of Rossini, Verdi
and Puccini to world premieres of contemporary operas.
Conductors
of great renown have worked with this orchestra, including: Nello
Santi, Ottavio Ziino, Maurizio Arena, Carlo Franci, Edoardo
Müller, David Garforth, Janos Acs, Marko Letonia, Yuri Ahronovitch,
as have the equally prestigious singers: Mariella Devia, Raina Kabainvanska,
Ghena Dimitrova, Katia Ricciarelli and Andrea Bocelli.
In addition
to a noteworthy discography of operatic recordings there have been
transmissions of various concerts by national television networks
and worldwide by the Vatican network as well as recordings by the
Ballet Nationale de Marseille “Roland Petit”.
ALBERTO MIODINI

Born
in Parma, Alberto Miodini studied music at the Arrigo Boito Conservatory
at Parma under the guidance of Roberto Cappello; subsequently with
Dario de Rosa, Maureen Jones and Paul Badura-Skoda.
The
Trio di Parma, of which he is the
pianist, established themselves at the 16th Vittorio Gui International
Competition in Florence; the 44th ARD Competition in Monaco and at
the International Competition of Chamber Music in Melbourne. In addition
he was awarded the Italian Critics’ Abbiati Prize in 1994.
He has
performed for the most important musical institutions in Italy (the
Saint Cecilia Academy, Rome; Friends of Music, Florence; Grand Theatre
La Fenice, Venice; September Music, Turin; the Quartet Society, Milan)
and abroad (Berlin Philharmonic, Lincoln Center in New York, Wigmore
Hall in London, the Hamburg Musikhalle, Coloseo Theatre Buenos Aires,
Sao Paolo, Santiago in Chile, Warsaw, Dresden, Washington, Hong Kong),
collaborating with musicians such as Vladimir Delman, Carl Melles,
Bruno Giuranna, Pavel Vernikov, Cecilia Gasdia.
Further
work with the Trio di Parma includes recording the three Brahms trios
for Unicef and the complete Beethoven trios for the music journal
Amadeus. Besides working with the Trio he performs recitals as a soloist
in several Italian cities (Milan, Venice, Padua, Treviso, Palermo)
as well as with important orchestras such as the Piano Festival Orchestra
of Brescia and Bergamo, the Emilia Romagna Symphony Orchestra “Arturo
Toscanini”, the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra, the San Remo Symphony
Orchestra, the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra and the “D. Lipatti” State
Orchestra of Rumania et al.
He holds
master classes in piano and chamber music at the “Trio di Trieste“
College and at the Music Academy of the Cinghio Theatre in Parma.
He has made numerous recordings for radio and television for RAI (Italian),
Bayerischer Rundfunk, NDR in Hamburg (German), ABC Classical Australia
and other foreign broadcasters.
